Earlier, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and his Maldivian counterpart Abdulla Shahid acknowledged that progress has been made in the areas of capacity building and training. The two countries signed an agreement paving the way for connectivity between the National Knowledge Network (NKN) of India and the Higher Education Network of Maldives. The National Knowledge Network is a multi-gigabyte national research and education network that aims to provide an integrated high-speed network for education and research institutions in India. This network is maintained by the National Informatics Center (NIC).
Male: India and Maldives on Saturday agreed to mutually recognize each other’s certificate of corona vaccination. The move will ease travel between the two countries and boost the tourism sector. In a joint press conference with Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar congratulated Maldives for writing a success story during the coronavirus pandemic.
