Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi criticized Pakistan on indifference
New Delhi (EMS). India has again written a letter to Pakistan regarding handing over terrorist organization Lashk-e-Taiba Chief Hafiz Saeed, wanted in the Mumbai attack, but there has been no response from Islamabad across the border. India’s Foreign Ministry has demanded his handover to the neighboring country so that he can be prosecuted. Union Minister of State Meenakshi Lekhi criticized Pakistan on this and emphasized that despite Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed being on the international terrorist list, Pakistan never reacted to it. Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi said that Hafiz Saeed was behind many incidents in India.
Meenakshi Lekhi said that despite Hafiz being on the international list of terrorists, Pakistan never reacted to it. India has sent a request to the Government of Pakistan along with relevant documents to bring him back. He said that earlier India had sent a request to the Pakistan government to extradite 26/11 attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed to India to face trial in a special case. There has been no official statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry on India’s request.
On the other hand, in the general elections to be held on 8 February 2024 in Pakistan, Hafiz Saeed’s son Talha Saeed is contesting from National Assembly constituency NA-127, Lahore, while PMML Central President Khalid Masood Sindhu is contesting from NA-130 of Pakistan Muslim League. -Is contesting elections against Nawaz’s chief and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that allowing radical organizations, including Hafiz Saeed’s son, to contest elections in Pakistan means that Pakistan is mainstreaming radical organizations as part of its state policy.
