Lahore (Hindustan Reporter) Alima Khan, sister of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, has claimed that the weight of the jailed Imran Khan is decreasing rapidly. They are being deprived of essential facilities. They are not being given space for walking and exercise.
Imran Khan was arrested on August 5 and shifted to Attock jail after the court sentenced him to three years in prison in the Toshakhana corruption case. After the sentence was suspended by the Islamabad High Court, he was arrested again in the Sifar case and shifted to Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi last week.
Alima Khan told reporters outside the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here, ‘I met Imran Khan in jail and found him happy. However, he lost weight and was not being given space for walks and exercise.
He said that Imran Khan is reading Quran and other books in jail and his morale is high. He said Khan has expressed disappointment over President Arif Alvi’s failure to give a date for the elections despite the dissolution of the National Assembly in August.
Meanwhile, Alima Khan and her sister Uzma Khan appeared before the ATC in a case related to the attack on Lahore Corps Commander House on May 9.
The police requested the arrest of both sisters. Police said that the Khan sisters have been declared guilty by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), hence their arrest has been requested for further investigation.
