In Yemen, pro-Iranian Houthi rebels avenged their 1,400 AK-47 rifles from the United States and captured Saudi Arabia’s stockpile of weapons. Saudi Arabia’s arsenal includes AK-103 rifles, several military vehicles, small boats and landing craft. Houthi rebels captured these Saudi weapons in the Red Sea. America is continuously helping Saudi Arabia against the Houthi rebels, but this action of the Yemeni rebels has dealt them a big blow.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian officials said that the ship was being brought back from a hospital on the island of Socotra in the Arabian Sea. Houthi rebels have released photos of Saudi weapons stockpile. Dozens of military trucks are visible in this, including the American-made Humvi. Also included are several small boats and dozens of AK 103 assault rifles, thousands of bullets, body armor and helmets.
Saudi Arabia’s army threatened
At the same time, the spokesman of Saudi Arabia’s coalition army has claimed that ambulances, medical equipment, communication equipment, tents, security equipment etc. were loaded on this ship. He said that the ship was on its way to Jajan Port when it was attacked. Houthi rebels have alleged that the Saudi Arabian ship was entering its Yemen waters with hostile purposes. Saudi Arabia’s military has threatened that Yemen’s rebels immediately abandon the ship or they will take strong retaliation.
Earlier, a major smuggling of AK-47 was caught in the Arabian Sea adjacent to India. The US Navy said in the past that its Fifth Fleet has recovered 1,400 AK-47 rifles and ammunition from the northern Arabian Sea during patrol. These rifles were hidden on a fishing boat. The big thing is that this boat was roaming in the sea without registration in any country. The US Navy claimed that these AK-47 rifles were being sent to Houthi rebels in Yemen. It was suspected that they were manufactured in Iran.
Large arms seizure from stateless ship off Somalia coast
Officials said that they feared that the ship would threaten commercial shipping and their navigation. In such a situation, after removing the crew and weapons from the ship, it was sunk in the sea. On February 11 this year, the US Navy’s guided missile destroyer USS Winstern S Churchill made a major seizure of weapons from a stateless ship off the coast of Somalia, in accordance with international law. Many other weapons were found in it including AK-47 assault rifles, light machine guns, rocket-propelled grenade launchers and heavy sniper rifles.
