In the Toshakhana case, the Islamabad High Court has given a decision to release Imran Khan on bail while staying his sentence. However, before Khan could come out of the Attock jail, he was taken into custody in connection with the secret letter theft case (Cypher Gate Scandal). This information has been given by Pakistan’s newspaper ‘The Dawn’.
Former law minister and government lawyer Ata Tarad told Geo News – Imran’s sentence has been suspended. He has got bail, but he cannot be released from jail at the moment. The reason for this is that in the case of cipher theft, the court has given physical remand of 14 days to the investigating agencies. According to ‘The Express Tribune’, teams from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) are waiting for them.
Arrest fixed in these two cases
The FIA is to question Khan in connection with the secret letter theft (Cypher Gate scandal) and the NAB in connection with the May 9 violence. The special thing is that NAB can keep Khan in its custody for questioning for 90 days. During this, no court including the Supreme Court will be able to grant him bail. The only relief will be that instead of jail, Khan will be kept in the headquarters room of the investigating agency.
Now understand the Toshakhana case in detail
The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), the previous ruling government, had taken up the Toshakhana gift issue with the Election Commission. It was said that Imran had sold gifts received from different countries during his tenure. Imran had told the Election Commission that he had bought all these gifts from Toshakhana for Rs 2.15 crore, on selling he got Rs 5.8 crore. Later it was revealed that this amount was more than 20 crores. About two years ago, a Pakistani man named Abrar Khalid filed an application in the Information Commission.
Said- Imran should be informed about the gifts received from other countries. Received the reply – The details of the gifts cannot be given. Khalid also turned stubborn. He filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court. Islamabad High Court had asked Imran – why don’t you give information about gifts? On this, Khan’s lawyer replied – this is a threat to the safety of the country. Relations with other countries can get spoiled. That’s why we cannot inform the people about the gifts received from other countries.
Wife Bushra also accused
The Toshakhana case is going on in two ways. Imran is being heard in the court in this. Apart from this, the anti-corruption agency is calling his wife Bushra Bibi for questioning, because it was Bushra who had given gifts worth crores of rupees to Toshakhana. Bushra Bibi also has to appear before the probe agency. Till now, the investigating agency has given notice to Bushra to appear a total of 13 times, but she did not appear even once. After this, the investigating agency took out an advertisement in the newspapers and said that if Bushra Bibi did not appear, a non-bailable warrant would be issued against her.
After this Imran filed a petition in the Lahore High Court. Said- My wife is a housewife and she has nothing to do with politics. Therefore, he should be given relief from questioning. On the other hand, in the same report, it has been said that there is very strong evidence against Imran and that is the reason why he wants to delay the trial for a long time on some pretext or the other.
What is Cypher Gate Scandal or Secret Letter Theft Case
After the fall of the government in April last year, it was continuously claimed by Imran that this letter (cypher in diplomatic term) was sent to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry by the US State Department i.e. Foreign Ministry. Imran claimed that the Biden administration did not want to see him in the prime minister’s chair and a no-confidence motion was brought against him at the behest of America. Imran’s involvement in the ‘Cypher Gate or Cable Gate or National Secret Gate’ case is believed to be certain. The reason for this is that when he was the Prime Minister, Azam Khan was his Chief Secretary. Azam has been questioned twice by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT). Azam has clearly said that he had given this cipher to Imran. Later, when Azam asked for it back from Khan, he said that it had been lost somewhere.
Surprisingly, Khan later openly waved the same cipher at several rallies. Khan said- This is the evidence which proves that my government was toppled by the army at the behest of America. Azam’s confession has decided that Imran will not be able to deny it even if he wants to. The special thing is that Azam has recorded his statement in front of the investigating agency and the magistrate. Signatures have also been done on its copy.
Apart from this, an audio tape of Khan also went viral. It had the voices of Imran, the then Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Azam Khan. It has been proved in the forensic investigation that this audio is correct, there was no tampering with it. In the tape, Khan tells Qureshi and Azam – Now we will play with this cipher by showing it in rallies.

The world will not trust Pakistan
According to Pakistani-origin American lawyer and political analyst Sajid Tarad – the first thing was that it was not an official communication. Tarad further says – America no longer needs Pakistan.

Pakistan’s former Defense Minister Khawaja Asif revealed on a TV channel that Imran’s party PTI has apologized to the US for the fabricated allegations of conspiracy.
