According to the report of the Kathmandu Post, running the train in Nepal has now become a bone of contention between India and China. Both countries do not want to let their influence in Nepal end. Last December, a 6-member team from China had reached for the survey of the railways. For the first time after Corona, the Chinese survey team had come to Nepal. Nepal’s Railway Ministry spokesman Aman said, ‘The Chinese team visited various sites of the proposed rail network and returned to China after conducting the survey on Tuesday. Aman said that we can now say that the feasibility study for running the train has now progressed.
In this way, India has left China far behind in terms of running trains. Another railway official Rohit Kumar Bisural said that the Indian side has completed its fieldwork for the final location survey for running the train from Raxaul to Kathmandu in Bihar. From the Indian side, this entire project is being executed by the Konkan Railway. This company will give its report between April and May. Earlier in March 2016, when KP Oli, who danced at the behest of China, visited Beijing, both the countries had signed an agreement for the railways.
After this, India’s ears perked up and it proposed a plan to run a train between Raxaul and Kathmandu. After this, this railway line was signed in the year 2018 during the then PM KP Oli’s visit to India. India is providing financial assistance for this electric railway line. On the other hand, about $ 3 billion will be spent on building a railway line between China and Nepal. Nepali experts say that it will take 42 months for China to study this railway project. India started late but will complete its final location survey very soon. This railway line will be 141 km long.
