Being a tall building does not pose much danger.
Let us tell you that regarding apartments and high rise buildings, experts say that being a tall building does not mean that it is more dangerous. The expert further explained that the height of a building does not make it vulnerable to collapse. The safety of the building, its design, how it is being maintained. Depends on that and many other factors. However, there is no earthquake resistant building yet. But earthquake-resistant buildings can be built.
Scientists say that there was no risk of any major damage in Delhi-NCR, because the epicenter of the earthquake was far away in the Nepal-Almora fault line of the Himalayas. Director of National Seismology Center OP Mishra said that the biggest earthquake was of 6.2 magnitude. We believe it to be at a depth of 14-15 km. It came at 2.51. This was immediately followed by an aftershock of magnitude 3.8 at a depth of 15 km. There was a soft zone of 50-60 square kilometers, where the aftershock occurred. This is a good sign.
This is how earthquake resistant houses are built
Many people will have a question in their mind that how earthquake resistant houses and buildings can be built. For their information, let us tell you that to build earthquake resistant buildings, there should be high quality materials and beams. Let us tell you that the strength provided by these makes the buildings capable of withstanding earthquake shocks. To build an earthquake resistant building, the first priority is to have a strong foundation. Isolation can be used to strengthen this. For information, let us tell you that base isolation is a process in which the foundation of the building shakes during an earthquake. But the buildings remain stable.
