Actually, Cuba was a staunch enemy of America during the Cold War, because there was a communist government here. It was supported by the communist government of the Soviet Union. This was the reason that in 1962, Moscow started deploying nuclear weapons in this island country, due to which the Cuban Missile Crisis arose. However, later it removed the weapons. But due to this incident, there was a danger of nuclear war between America and Soviet Union.

What benefit will China get from the spy station?
According to the report of the Wall Street Journal, the distance from Cuba to America is only 160 kilometers. Having a spy station in Cuba means that China will be able to easily trace the electronic communication happening in the southern part of America. Not only this, but China will also be able to keep an eye on the movement of ships here. Many major military bases of America are also present in this area.
The US Central Command is headquartered in the city of Tampa in the US state of Florida. Fort Liberty in North Carolina is the largest military base in America. Having a spy station here means that China will be able to spy here very easily. According to the report, an agreement has been reached between the two countries. China is also giving several billion dollars to Cuba in exchange for a spy station.

What did America say on the report?
White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that we have seen this report, which is not correct. However, he did not clearly tell what is not correct in this report. Kirby definitely said that America has concerns about the relationship between China and Cuba. Their relationships are being closely monitored.
US Defense Department spokesman Brigadier General Patrick Ryder says that we do not know that China and Cuba are developing a new type of spy station. At the same time, Cuba and China have also rejected the claims of making spy stations. Cuba, with a population of 1.25 billion, has called the report false, while China says that we do not know about it yet.
