    China Anti-corruption Drive: Xi Jinping cracks down on ‘bribery’ officers in China, more than 1 lakh punished

    China’s ruling Communist Party of China (CCP) has launched a comprehensive campaign against corruption. More than 1,10,000 officials have been punished under the anti-corruption drive. This information is available in the report of Indo-Pacific Center for Strategic Communication (IPCSC). China President Xi Jinping launched an anti-corruption campaign, under which officials have been publicly investigated. China has already taken action against officials regarding corruption.

    The officers on whom action has been taken in China include state level officers, deputy state level officers, military commission members, dozens of officers working in ministries and officers working at deputy level in ministries. Overall, Chinese President Jinping has tightened the noose on corrupt and bribery officials. It has been told about these officers that there is an allegation against them of taking commission and bribe, for which action has now been taken.

    At what level was the action taken?

    The IPCSC report claimed that fines have been imposed against 1,11,000 people in the first quarter of this year. It also includes provincial and provincial level cadre, 633 department level cadre, 669 district level cadre and 1000 township level officers. At the same time, action has also been taken against 15000 general cadre officers and 76,000 executive officers who look after issues like rural and business. The President of China is looking very strict about corruption.

    Complaints were also found in the monthly anti-corruption report

    This action is taking place in China at a time when the ‘Central Commission for Disciplinary Inspection and State Supervisory Commission’ of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party released its monthly anti-corruption report. The report mentioned that the disciplinary inspection and supervision agencies received 7,76,000 petitions in the first quarter, of which 2,31,000 were complaints and allegations.

    In the country’s anti-corruption crackdown, investigations are underway against key officials such as Dr. Zhaochai and Li Xiaopeng. In the March report, it was told that investigation was done against 7,021 cases and appropriate action was also taken in this.
