Chandrayaan-3: India’s ambitious moon mission was successfully completed at 6.4 pm on Wednesday evening. Chandrayaan-3 made a successful landing on the south pole of the moon. With this, India became the first country in the world to successfully land on the Moon’s South Pole. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa congratulated
Addressing the open plenary session of the 15th BRICS Summit, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said that the success of Chandrayaan-3 is a success for the BRICS family. Referring to the BRICS Space Consortium proposal put forth by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, he extended his best wishes. He said, “We congratulate you. This is a momentous occasion for us as the BRICS family and we are delighted to have you with us. We join you in celebrating this great achievement.”
Nepal’s PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ congratulated
Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ congratulated ISRO and India for this remarkable achievement through a post on social media site X.
Prachanda said, “I congratulate Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and India’s ISRO team for the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the lunar surface today and a historic achievement in science and space technology.”
Maldivian President expressed pride in the achievement
Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih congratulated Indians, ISRO and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this remarkable achievement. He posted on Twitter earlier that Maldives, as a fellow South Asian nation, is also proud of the achievement.

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson congratulated ISRO and India on its lunar achievement. In a tweet, Nelson said, “Congratulations to ISRO on the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the South Pole of the Moon! And congratulations to India, which has become the fourth country to successfully soft-land a spacecraft on the Moon. We are glad to be your partner in this mission!”
European Space Agency also congratulated
Joseph Eschbacher, Director General of the European Space Agency (ESA), congratulated India and the Indian Space Research Organization for becoming the first country to successfully land on the South Pole of the Moon.
Eschbacher said, “Unbelievable! Congratulations to ISRO, Chandrayaan-3 and all the people of India!! What a way to showcase new technologies and achieve India’s first soft landing on another celestial body. Well done, I am totally impressed.
Eschbacher also commended the European Space Agency for providing critical support. “We, too, are learning great lessons and providing valuable expertise. A strong international partner is a strong partner.”
