The US killed Osama bin Laden in that attack. Zawahiri’s house was in Shirpur, Kabul and he was living under the protection of Taliban.

Bin Laden’s house in Abbottabad was known as the Waziristan Haveli. It was a palace-like house in which bin Laden was safe. This mansion of bin Laden was in Bilal Town of Abbottabad, from where the Pakistan Military Academy was just a short distance away. Also, many retired military officers lived in this area. There was no internet facility in the house where bin Laden lived. This house was also very big and had two storeys. No one lived nearby and bin Laden was safe in this fort. It is said that Pak agency ISI had given him security. With retired military officers being home nearby, bin Laden was never in fear of being caught.

Zawahiri did not come out of the house. CIA’s Reaper drone killed Zawahiri with the help of two Hellfire missiles. Officials are saying that Taliban leaders knew that Zawahiri was in this house. Not a single civilian has been killed in this operation.
