Yes, an elderly man from Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir has done a special feat. 84 year old Munshi Ram converted an ordinary bicycle into an eco-friendly electric bicycle. Munshi Ram has also installed an electric plant to charge this bicycle.

Media reports have claimed that Munshi Ram, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Green India’, has built this bicycle from discarded laptop batteries and e-waste.

Munshi Ram has told about his e-cycle that he charges it using solar energy and electricity. To charge it, Munshi Ram has also installed a solar plant on the roof of the house.

Munshi Ram told that he had to face a lot of problems in his ancestral home in Jain, which is about 31 kilometers away. Many times I used to get late in reaching home due to non-availability of vehicle. In such a situation, I decided to do this work and now it is in my hands.

Munshi Ram courageously told that if a person has passion then he has the courage to do anything at any age. At present this electric bicycle remains the center of attraction among the people.
