New Delhi. Redmi India, a sub-brand of Mi India, on Wednesday announced the company’s foray into the smart TV category with the launch of the Redmi Smart TV X series. Redmi’s Smart TV series includes Redmi Smart TV X65, Smart TV X55 and Smart TV X50. The same specifications have been given in all three smart televisions and only their screen size is given different.
The 50-inch variant of the Redmi Smart TV X series has been priced at Rs 32,999, Rs 38,999 for the 55-inch option and Rs 57,999 for the 65-inch variant.
The new Smart TV X series will be available for sale on Amazon as well as Mi.com, Mi Home and Mi Studio from 12 noon on March 26 and will be made available in offline retail stores later.
Raghu Reddy, Chief Business Officer, Mi India, said, “In India today, 17 crore households have TVs, but less than 20 million households have Smart TVs. We launched our range of Mi TVs three years ago and We have consistently been the market leader in Smart TVs over the last 10 quarters.”
The Redmi Smart TV X Series comes with 4K HDR technology and Dolby Vision and also sports HDR 10 Plus.
It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core A55 CPU coupled with Mali G52 MP2 and 2GB of RAM plus 16GB of storage.
The TV runs on Android 10 out of the box and also comes with Xiaomi’s PatchWall UI.
The Redmi TV comes with three HDMI 2.1 capable ports, all of which are equipped with ALLM. One of the HDMI ports also sports eARC for connecting a Dolby Atmos soundbar or home theater to a TV.
The new TVs come with two USB ports, an optical port and a 3.5mm port. It also supports Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi. (IANS)
