Microsoft’s AI program, VALL-E has been the subject of much discussion for the past few days. This program can clone someone’s voice in just 3 seconds. Microsoft has introduced this program as ‘Text to Speech Synthesis Language Model’ on its demo website.
Microsoft brings VALL-E
Microsoft has told that this AI program also captures the emotions of the speaker and the surrounding environment. This means that just 3 seconds of audio sample can capture the same tone and voice.
Microsoft is also well aware of the danger of its misuse. Because VALL-E can capture speech as it is. This creates a danger that it can be used by copying someone else’s voice. The company says that such a protocol will be added to it, which will ensure that the speaker’s voice can be used only when it is approved.
Microsoft’s investment in AI
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates expressed his interest in artificial intelligence earlier this month in an AMA session on Reddit. He called AI revolutionary. When a user asked Bill Gates about the change in technology in today’s time, he replied that AI is going to be huge. When asked about ChatGPT, he said that it gives a glimpse of what is to come. Also he said – “I am very impressed with this whole vision and innovation and I am following ChatGPT very closely.”
With these comments of Bill Gates, it is also being speculated that Microsoft might be planning a big investment in AI. If reports are to be believed, Microsoft is preparing to bring AI to Bing, MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint.
