WhatsApp users still have to tap multiple buttons in the app to reach the block option in order to block a contact. But now if you want to block someone, you don’t need to tap multiple times to reach the block option.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on adding two new ways to block a contact in its app. Till now, if users wanted to block a contact, they had to go to that person’s chat and then go to their profile and go to the Block option at the bottom.
New methods will roll out to block on WhatsApp:
first option- Will have to go to WhatsApp chat list. This is where you will find this option. From here you’ll be able to block the person without even opening the chat. The first option will be in the chat list itself. It will be present in chat options. With this you can easily block a contact without opening the chat.
The second option- When a user has messaged you from an unknown contact, then you will see the option of Block below that message. You can see screenshots of both below.
This update is being rolled out for beta users. The 2.23.2.10 version of the WhatsApp beta app has been rolled out for Android users. At the same time, this feature is also being developed for the iOS app.
