Noted tipster Ice Universe has reported that Samsung is preparing a new 200-megapixel image sensor for its upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra flagship smartphone. Samsung will call it the ISOCELL HM2 sensor and it could be the best sensor Samsung has ever made. Let us tell you that Samsung already sells ISOCELL HM1 and ISOCELL HM3 sensors, both of which are rated at 200 megapixels.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will get 200MP camera
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is still shaping up to be a mild camera upgrade over the current generation model. Previous rumors have suggested that Samsung will continue to use a 10-megapixel sensor for the periscope camera. Not that the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a bad 10 megapixel periscope camera, but it could clearly use a higher resolution sensor for better photo quality.
Apart from this, not much information has been received about Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra yet. Samsung has sold the Galaxy S22 lineup well this year. The company’s Galaxy S22 Alt is one of the best-selling smartphones as per data from Counterpoint Research. Most notably, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is currently the most expensive smartphone sold by Samsung. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is an upgraded version of Galaxy S21 Ultra with S Pen stylus.
