Jaipur. BJP has achieved a charismatic victory in the assembly elections held in Rajasthan. BJP is forming the government with full majority, there was an atmosphere of celebration throughout the day at the party headquarters. At the same time, with this victory of the party, the most important question on everyone’s lips is who will become the Chief Minister? The party leaders do not yet have the answer to this question, but discussions are hot in the political circles regarding many names.
Earlier the party had not declared the CM face, now there is only one question in everyone’s mind that in whose hands will the command of the state be handed over? However, three big names are considered to be out of the CM race. The first name among these was that of Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore, the second was that of Deputy Leader of Opposition Satish Poonia, but both have lost the elections. At the same time, the third name of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was also strong, but since the start of the Lok Sabha session, he is also considered to be out of the race. Now the question is whether former CM Vasundhara Raje will be the CM or the party can also bet on a new face. Let us know who are the strong contenders in the race for the post of CM in BJP.
Vasundhara Raje – If we talk about CM contenders in BJP, the first name topping is that of former CM Vasundhara Raje. She has been the Chief Minister twice and is the National Vice President of the party. This time, even though the party has not made the CM face, Raje held the maximum number of meetings in support of the candidates. Raje has experience of efficient management and also experience of running the government. Political pundits are believing that Vasundhara Raje will have to be put forward to the top leadership of the party. In the Lok Sabha elections to be held after 6 months, 25 seats can be achieved only by putting Raje forward. If Raje is ignored, its effect can be seen in the Lok Sabha elections.
Diya Kumari – Diya Kumari is the candidate who won the assembly elections with the highest number of votes. Diya Kumari, who comes from the Jaipur royal family, is also considered to be ahead in the race for CM. Diya Kumari, who was once an MLA and once an MP, is close to the top party leadership and also liked by the RSS. It is being told that as an alternative to Vasundhara Raje, Diya Kumari can also be made the Chief Minister in order to cultivate Rajput society and have a young face.
Ashwini Vaishnav – Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is also being considered as a contender for the post of CM, although the party has not fielded him, but if the party decides the top leadership, then elections can be held on one seat within six months. Let us tell you that earlier there was talk of Vaishnav contesting elections from Jaipur. Vaishnav, from the Administrative Service, is considered to have a good hold on the party’s top leadership and is one of the favorite ministers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Arjun Ram Meghwal – If seen from the perspective of Dalit face, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is also included in this race. Union Law Minister Meghwal was also very active in the assembly elections this time. This time he had an important responsibility regarding the Rajasthan Assembly elections. However, the party has not fielded him in the elections.
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat – Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who is close and confidant of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, can also be considered strong in terms of CM face. Although, neither Shekhawat was fielded as a candidate nor was given any major responsibility directly in the assembly elections, yet this time Shekhawat was continuously active in the assembly elections.
Om Mathur – After UP, Gujarat and Maharashtra, senior BJP leader Om Mathur, who has now held the post of state in-charge of a state like Chhattisgarh, is also being considered in the CM race. Om Mathur is camping in Jaipur these days. The big thing is that Om Mathur had kept distance from Rajasthan during the assembly elections, but after voting on 25th November, he is seen active again in Rajasthan. Meeting workers and leaders has given impetus to the discussions. Om Mathur has also been the Rajasthan State President in the past.
CP Joshi – Rajasthan BJP President CP Joshi’s name is also included in the race for CM. Joshi, as the state president, took over the reins of the party’s election campaign from the front. The party can also make him the face of the CM, some people are considering State President CP Joshi as a dark horse. However, all the party leaders including CP Joshi have tried to clarify that there is no discussion regarding CM face as of now, first there will be a meeting of the legislature party, in which the names of the MLAs’ choice will be placed before the Delhi Parliamentary Board. After that the final decision will be taken by the board.
Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav
Bhupendra Yadav – Veteran BJP leader Bhupendra Yadav is the Forest and Environment Minister in the Central Government. He is considered close to PM Modi and Amit Shah. His name is also included in the race for Chief Minister in Rajasthan. It is believed that if BJP selects OBC as CM in Rajasthan, Bhupendra Yadav may get a chance.
BJP candidate Baba Balaknath
Baba Balak Nath – Baba Balaknath’s name has emerged rapidly in the politics of Rajasthan. Balak Nath is called the Yogi of Rajasthan. Balaknath comes from the same Nath sect from which UP CM Yogi Adityanath comes. At present he is an MP from Alwar, but the party has fielded him in the assembly elections from Tijara seat. In the exit poll before counting, 10 percent people had expressed their choice for him as CM.
