These days screening committee meetings are being held in the capital Bhopal. The committee will hand over a list of names on each seat to the Congress Election Committee. The name will be finalized after detailed discussion here. Congress may release the first list by the end of September.

MP Saptagiri Ulka, who played a key role in Karnataka Congress ticket distribution, has been included in the Madhya Pradesh screening committee. This time, Congress is looking for a winning as well as a durable candidate. On the basis of work in the field, the candidate who wins will be given the ticket. The party is looking for a winnable and durable candidate. According to Congress sources, surveys are being conducted at two levels for ticket distribution in the state. An agency working for Kamal Nath in Madhya Pradesh is preparing a survey. A team attached to the high command is also conducting a survey. On the basis of both the surveys, observers and election committee members will prepare the list. Numbering in the list will be done on the basis of winning and durable. Recently Digvijay Singh had said that only Kamal Nath’s survey will be considered final. Kamal Nath is searching for a sustainable candidate who can win every seat.

Congress has also prepared a formula for giving tickets to outside leaders. The party will give tickets to only those defectors who, along with winning the elections, are loyal. Recently, the pair of Kamal Nath and Digvijay have inducted a large number of BJP leaders into the party. According to Congress sources, most of the leaders who are being inducted into the party are being assured of adjustment after coming to power. Congress may release the first list of candidates by the end of September or the first week of October. According to a senior state Congress leader, the party will give place to only those candidates in the first list, whose chances of leaving the party are zero. That is, the candidature of big leaders can be announced by the end of September.
