Today, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said in a program that the Muslims who migrated to Pakistan did not get respect or prestige there. Whereas the Muslims residing here are from India, irrespective of their worship method. Had the idea continued during the freedom movement, the partition of India could have been prevented. Mohan Bhagwat said during the release of a book written on Veer Savarkar that – India’s Hindutva and Sanatan culture is liberal. We have inherited this culture and no one can be separated on its methods of worship. Our (Hindu and Muslim) ancestors are one and if this idea had persisted even during the freedom movement, there would have been a way to stop the partition.

Bhagwat said that – Savarkar’s Hindutva was about Akhand Bharat, where no one is considered separate on the basis of his religion, caste and status and it was based on the idea of nation first. Many people in Indian society talked about Hindutva and unity but it was Savarkar who said it strongly and now years later it is felt that if everyone spoke vigorously there would have been no division . The Muslims who migrated to Pakistan after partition have no prestige there because they belong to India and this cannot be changed. Our ancestors are the same, only our worship system is different and we are proud of our culture of Sanatan Dharma. He said that – whether Savarkar’s Hindutva or Vivekananda’s Hindutva, all are the same because they all talk of the same cultural nationalism where no one is discriminated against on the basis of his ideology. He said, ‘Why should we make a difference? We are born in the same country. We have fought for it.
