New Delhi. Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting was held in Delhi. After this meeting, Rahul Gandhi said- Caste census will take place in the states where we have our government. Our government is coming in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana. We do not have caste census data, if the government does not release that data then when our government comes, we will release it.
Rahul asked who has how much population in this country. The question is whether the country’s wealth is in the hands of these people or not. How many tribals, OBCs and Dalits are there in the institutions of the country? This is what we are asking. The Prime Minister is saying that you want to break the country, what will you say on this?
Earlier, many leaders including Sonia Gandhi, party president Mallikarjun Kharge were present in the meeting. During the meeting, Kharge said- It is necessary to have socio-economic data on the condition of weaker sections of the society for proper participation in welfare schemes. Congress is continuously raising the demand for nationwide caste census, but BJP is silent on this issue.
What did Kharge say after the meeting
After coming to power in 2024, we will implement women’s reservation while ensuring political participation of OBC women. With the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections round the corner, it is important for the party to work with careful coordination, discipline and unity. We have to make an effective strategy for the assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, MP, Telangana, Mizoram.
There is new enthusiasm in the cadre after the decisive victory in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, so we will give our full strength to win the elections. After three meetings, the effect of the strength of INDIA alliance is clearly visible in PM Modi’s speeches.
The last CWC meeting was held in Hyderabad.
Earlier, a CWC meeting was called in Hyderabad on 16 September. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi also attended this meeting. In the proposal presented in the meeting, it was said that the central government has completely failed on the political, economic and national security front. It was claimed that BJP is a challenge to the constitutional and federal structure of the country.
Before this meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had said that the Modi government is completely failing on the issues of stopping inflation, unemployment, Manipur violence and inequality. Kharge also said that just as the Indian National Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) is getting success, the BJP government is busy taking action against the opposition parties.
CWC was announced on 20 August
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had announced the Congress Working Committee (CWC) on August 20. Sonia, Rahul, Priyanka are included in this committee of 39 members. At the same time, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (90) has also been retained in the committee.
Digvijay Singh and Kamleshwar Patel from Madhya Pradesh, Tamradhwaj Sahu from Chhattisgarh and Sachin Pilot from Rajasthan have got place in CWC. Elections are to be held in all three states later this year. Kharge has also included Shashi Tharoor, who contested against him, in the working committee. There are total 84 names in CWC. These include the names of CWC members, permanent invitees, general secretary, special invitees and in-charges.
