Punjab News: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann reached Sangrur today on June 9, 2023. During this, he also took salute of the passing out parade of more than 200 jawans who completed the training of jail wardens. CM Mann had come to give appointment letters to the jail wardens who had passed the training and joined the jail department. CM Mann announced the construction of the state’s first high security digital jail on 50 acres of land in a village in Ludhiana. He said that the Punjab Government has sanctioned Rs 100 crore from the Union Home Ministry for the construction of this jail.
Know what will be the specialty of this jail
Punjab’s first state-of-the-art jail is going to be set up in Gorisia Bakhsh village of Ludhiana. CM Mann announced this in Sangrur. He told that the Central Government has sanctioned Rs 100 crore for this. This will be a two-storey digitized jail. The specialty of this state-of-the-art high security jail will be such that the danger of prisoners coming to court will end. No phone etc. will be able to operate inside this jail. Second is the way this prison has been designed. It will have a court room on its ground floor. Due to which the hearing of the prisoners will be done on the spot itself. The barracks for keeping the prisoners will be built on the upper floor of its courtroom.

what will be its benefit
Let us tell you that the dreaded criminals will be kept in this high security digital jail. So that there is no need to take out any prisoner at the time of production. Whenever the date of hearing of the prisoner will fall. The judge related to his case will himself come to the jail and conduct the hearing in the court room on the ground floor.
Jail department will have a headquarters
While making another announcement on the occasion, CM Mann said that a separate headquarters of the Jail Department would be set up at Sec-68, Mohali, near Chandigarh. For which the land has been purchased. Along with this, the CM announced the formation of a separate road safety force in Punjab. He told that the reason for the increase in the deaths due to road accidents is due to the speeding of vehicles. This force will have its own crane, they will have the right to challan the vehicles breaking the rules. They will have different uniforms.
