CM Dhami: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that acquiring land for running metro in Dehradun is going to be a big challenge. Circle rates are being planned for this. Along with this, a policy for land acquisition is being prepared. At present, preparations have been started to run Metro on 2 routes in Dehradun. For this, a proposal has been sent to the government to implement the policy of land acquisition of UP Metro Rail Corporation.
Train will run on these 2 routes
The Uttarakhand government has initiated action for land acquisition for the metro rail project. Since this project basically has to pass over the roads. That’s why only 85 percent government land is to be used. For this, 2 routes have been selected in the first phase. The plan to run Neo Metro on the first route from FRI to Raipur and the second from ISBT to Gandhi Park on a total track of 22.42 km is under consideration.

Estimated cost of 1662 crores
The Uttarakhand Metro Rail Corporation project to be started in Uttarakhand will have a 50:50 partnership between the Center and the state government. According to MD Tyagi of this project will be ready in total 3 years. On which a total cost of 1662 crores has been estimated.
Proposal for acquisition of 83 private properties
About 83 private and commercial properties have been listed to come under the aforesaid first phase project. Which includes 54 properties on the FRI route from Raipur. Similarly, 29 commercial properties have been identified on the ISBT to Gandhi Park route.
