Nitin Gadkari said, it was a family meeting
Mumbai, . Maharashtra politics has heated up after Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s two-hour meeting with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray at his residence. However, Nitin Gadkari termed this meeting as a family meeting and said that political meaning should not be given to it. But after this meeting, various discussions are taking place in the political circles. BJP-MNS alliance is being speculated.
After the meeting, Nitin Gadkari said that he has a 30-year-old relationship with Raj Thackeray and his family. To know the health of Raj Thackeray’s mother, he had come to Shivtirth, her new home in Dadar. Raj Thackeray has built a new house in Dadar, there was a desire to see that house for a long time. Raj Thackeray had also invited him to visit his new house. There was only family discussion at his house, it should not be given political meaning.
Bharatiya Janata Party state president Chandrakant Patil and former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the Nitin Gadkari-Raj Thackeray meeting was personal. The BJP has already decided that the party is going to contest the elections on its own in Maharashtra, so the BJP-MNS alliance should not be interpreted after the meeting.
Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut said that such meetings keep happening in politics. Every person in politics has personal relations with all party leaders, so such a meeting should not be interpreted differently. But MNS has left the issue of Marathi and is now looking for a different land. They allege that conspiracy is being hatched against Shiv Sena and Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Efforts are also being made to defeat Shiv Sena in Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections. Sanjay Raut said that no matter what kind of conspiracy is there, Shiv Sena’s supremacy over Mumbai Municipal Corporation is going to remain intact.
Nationalist Congress Party leader Amol Mitkari said that the meeting of Nitin Gadkari and Raj Thackeray was pre-planned. Its timing was predetermined. The support of MNS has become necessary for the BJP in the upcoming elections, that is why this meeting was organized. After this meeting, the decision of BJP-MNS alliance will be taken very soon.
It is noteworthy that late on Sunday night, Nitin Gadkari had gone to Shiv Tirth, the residence of Raj Thackeray in Dadar, and the two leaders discussed for two hours. Nitin Gadkari had food at Raj Thackeray’s house and returned late at night.
The meeting brought back memories of the meetings of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani and Pramod Mahajan at Matoshree, the residence of Balasaheb Thackeray in Mumbai. Initially similar meetings between these leaders were followed by a BJP-Shiv Sena alliance on the issue of Hindutva, which lasted for the longest two-and-a-half decades.
