PM Modi inaugurates the third edition of Khelo India University Games, targets Congress without naming it

PM Modi: This year’s Khelo India University Games will be held from 25 May to 3 June 2023 in four districts of Uttar Pradesh. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated these games through video conferencing. About 5 thousand young athletes will participate in these games this year. Around 200 college youth will try their skills in 21 sports.

PM Modi targeted the former government

Inaugurating through video conferencing, PM Modi indirectly targeted the Congress and said that “a living proof of the attitude of the previous governments towards sports was the scam in the Commonwealth Games. A scam was done in the sports competition which could have been useful for establishing India’s prestige in the world. He further said that the Panchayat used to run a scheme called Yuva Krida Khel Abhiyan to give an opportunity to the children of our rural villages to play. But its name was changed to Rajiv Gandhi Sports Campaign. The aim of this campaign was to change the name, not to change the sports infrastructure of the country.

My best wishes to the young friends taking part in the Khelo India University Games being held in Uttar Pradesh. https://t.co/jVtu3eWinC
