ODI World Cup 2023 : The cricket tournament for which everyone was eagerly waiting i.e. the World Cup is going to start soon. The first match of cricket’s biggest tournament will be played on 5 October. Warm-up matches have also started from 29th September. Before the matches, ICC had given the teams a deadline to change the squad. India and Australia made some changes in their respective squads. With the changes in the Indian team, Team India players have got a chance to create history. Let us know how.
Changes in the Indian team
Changes were made in the Indian team for ODI World Cup 2023. Indian cricket team’s experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was given a place in the team. Ashwin was also given a chance in the recent India vs Australia ODI series. Ashwin performed brilliantly in the series. Ashwin has been given a place in the team in place of Indian team all-rounder Akshar Patel. Akshar Patel has been dropped from the World Cup due to injury. But Akshar’s departure and Ashwin’s arrival in Team India can create history.
If we talk about the final squad of the World Cup Indian team, then there are two players in it who were part of the World Cup 2011. Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Virat-Ashwin have a chance to create history
If India wins the World Cup 2023, then Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin will create history. Virat and Ashwin will become the players to win two ODI World Cups.
Virat also played the World Cup of 2015 and 2019, but India could not perform well in that. While Ashwin was a part of the 2015 World Cup, he was a part of the 2019 World Cup team. Now it remains to be seen whether Virat and Ashwin can create history by winning the World Cup trophy, or they will have to wait.
