New Parliament Inauguration: The country’s new parliament building will be inaugurated on May 28. All preparations have been completed for this. PM Modi will formally inaugurate it. Invitations have also been sent to various parties for the inauguration ceremony. But, 19 opposition parties have announced to boycott the inauguration ceremony. Many big parties including Congress are involved in this. A joint statement has been issued by all the parties in this regard.
The fight against the government will continue
The statement said that the soul of democracy has been expelled from the Parliament. We do not see any value in this building. That’s why we have decided to boycott the inauguration of the new Parliament building. The new Parliament building has been built at great expense during a once-in-a-century pandemic, with no consultation with the people of India or the parliamentarians for whom it is being built. We will continue to fight against this autocratic Prime Minister and his government.

insult to the presidency
In this, describing the inauguration of the Parliament House as an important occasion, it has been said that the government is putting democracy in danger and the new Parliament has been built in an autocratic manner. Nevertheless, we were prepared to set aside our differences on this important occasion. But the way the decision was taken to inaugurate the new Parliament building with the Prime Minister, completely bypassing President Draupadi Murmu, is not only an insult to the office of the President, but a direct attack on democracy.
Told the President an integral part of the Parliament
Citing Article 19 of the Constitution, the statement said the President is not only the head of state in India, but also an integral part of Parliament. He summons, prorogates and addresses the Parliament. In short, the Parliament cannot function without the President. Yet the Prime Minister has decided to inaugurate the new Parliament House without him. This unbecoming act is an insult to the high office of the President and is in violation of the letter and spirit of the Constitution.
