New Parliament Building: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to India on Thursday morning after visiting three countries. PM Modi’s plane landed at Palam airport in Delhi this morning. During this, a gathering of BJP leaders and workers was seen to welcome him. Many big leaders including BJP national president JP Nadda had reached the airport to welcome PM Modi. During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the BJP workers, also took a jibe at the opposition for boycotting the inauguration of the new Parliament House.
PM Modi’s taunt on the opposition
Addressing the workers, PM Modi said, “Friends, you will be happy to know that it is a matter of pride for all of us to have the Australian PM attend the Indian community event. But not only this, the former Prime Minister was also present in that function. There were MPs from the opposition, there were MPs from the ruling party. All of them together participated in this program of the Indian community. PM Modi’s remarks came a day after 19 opposition parties decided to boycott the inauguration of the new parliament.
Corona vaccine also targeted
At the same time, the PM also pulled up the opposition for questioning the Center for exporting the Covid vaccine to foreign countries during the peak of the pandemic. PM Modi said, “At the time of crisis, they asked why Modi is giving vaccine to the world. Remember, this is the land of Buddha, this is the land of Gandhi. We care even for our enemies, we are a people driven by compassion.”
Opposition furious over the new parliament building
The new Parliament building will be inaugurated by the PM on Sunday, however, the opposition will have almost zero representation at the event. Around 20 parties have announced that they will boycott the inauguration. The opposition parties issued a statement saying, “The decision by Prime Minister Modi to inaugurate the new Parliament House, completely bypassing President Murmu, is not only a blatant insult, but a direct attack on our democracy. This indecent act insults the high office of the President.
