Speaking to a news agency, Aruna Rao, Executive Director of Desi Rainbow said, “I would like to say that the issue of same-sex marriage is being debated in the Supreme Court of India for the past few months. I request PM Modi to support this. I request them to support equal rights for the gay community in India. We are also human beings and our children and members of the gay community have equal rights.” Another American, Leslie Kingston, hoped that PM Modi would really like to spend some time getting to know the Indian community and the South Asian community.
