New Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal has now got the support of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee against the Centre’s ordinance. AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal met CM Mamata Banerjee and sought TMC’s support against the Centre’s ordinance that took away the powers of Delhi’s elected government. CM Mamta Banerjee said that the ordinance of the Center is against the Delhi government. When this ordinance comes in the form of a bill in Rajya Sabha, TMC will strongly oppose it. This is a big chance to defeat BJP before 2024. All the opposition parties together can drop the bill in the Rajya Sabha. CM Arvind Kejriwal thanked CM Mamta Banerjee for getting support from TMC and said that if the bill falls in Rajya Sabha, it will become the semi-final of 2024. They have become very arrogant. The people of the country should remove such arrogant government now.
TMC will oppose the ordinance
The Aam Aadmi Party national convenor accused the Center of taking away the rights of the people of Delhi and said the ordinance should not be allowed to be passed in the Rajya Sabha. After meeting with Arvind Kejriwal, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said that TMC will oppose the ordinance brought by the Centre. Will also request the opposition parties to come together.
Kejriwal said thanks to Mamta
At the same time, Arvind Kejriwal said that I thank Mamta Banerjee for assuring that she will support us in the Rajya Sabha. I am sure if this bill is stalled in Rajya Sabha, it will be a semi-final for 2024 (Lok Sabha elections).
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that from today I am going on a tour of the whole country for the rights of the people of Delhi. After many years, the Supreme Court passed an order and gave rights to the people of Delhi. But, the central government took away all those rights by bringing an ordinance.
Kejriwal will meet Uddhav Thackeray on May 24
He said that if the law is brought in the Rajya Sabha, it should not be allowed to be passed under any circumstances. I will meet presidents of all political parties and seek their support. Kejriwal will meet Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray on May 24 and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar on May 25.
