Let us tell you what the leader and party have said on this controversy of ‘India Vs Bharat’.
‘The whole world is laughing at them’
Reacting to the matter, Congress leader Pawan Kheda said, “PM Modi is now having a problem with the name India and is changing its name to ‘Bharat’. The whole world is laughing at them… We have no problem that you hate us, our ideology and our leaders, but do not hate India, Indians.”
At the same time, senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar said that BJP is scared of INDIA alliance. He questioned how India can be a symbol of colonialism when it is enshrined in our constitution.
‘What was the need to change the name?’
tmc supremo Mamata Banerjee Has also raised questions on the intention behind changing the name. He said, “The world is familiar with the name India. Today, they (Centre) changed the name of India. In the invitation card for the G20 summit dinner, it is mentioned India…in English, we say India and , Bharat. What’s new in this? The world knows us by the name of India. What happened suddenly that there was a need to change the name of the country?”
‘…will they change the name of India to BJP?’
CM of Delhi and Convener of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal Said, “What will the party do if the opposition alliance names itself Bharat? If the alliance of some parties becomes India, will they change the name of the country? The country belongs to 140 crore people, not to any party. Suppose if India alliance keeps its name as Bharat then will they change the name of Bharat to BJP? What joke is this?”
‘Why so much hatred towards Mother India…’
Welcoming the move, BJP leaders termed it as a decision taken by the Rashtrapati Bhavan. BJP national president JP Nadda targeted the Congress party and said that this party is family-oriented. Nadda asked, “Why do people doing political yatras in the name of Bharat Jodo hate the slogan of Bharat Mata Ki Jai? It is clear that Congress neither respects the country, nor the constitution, nor the constitutional institutions. Its purpose is to glorify only one. The entire country is well aware of the anti-national and anti-constitutional intentions of the Congress.”
‘Congress Has strong hatred towards India’
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has also given his response on this. In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, he wrote, “Now my apprehension has come true. It seems that the Congress party has a strong hatred towards India. It appears that ‘I.N.D.I. The name ‘coalition’ was deliberately chosen with the aim of defeating India.” At the same time, a video of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is also being shared, in which he is seen appealing to call the country India.
Similarly, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “India is the basic identity of the residents of this country. India is our introduction. We are proud of this. The President has given priority to ‘India’. This is the biggest statement to come out of the colonial mentality.”
