Hijab Ban: Hijab has once again entered the politics of Karnataka. It is being claimed that the hijab ban is going to be lifted soon in Karnataka. This claim has not been made by us but by the only Muslim woman MLA, Kaneez Fatima. In fact, before the Karnataka assembly elections, the issue of wearing hijab through Muslim girl students in government schools was sprung up by the BJP. The effect of this was that the controversy had spread across the country and the issue had grabbed international headlines.
BJP had banned before the elections
After this, the former BJP government had banned wearing hijab in government schools and colleges in Karnataka. But recently the Congress government in Karnataka, which came to power, has claimed that it will lift the ban on hijab. In the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023, the only Muslim woman MLA Kaneez Fathima has demanded removal of ban on Hijab.

Reservation will be restored in the first cabinet
Kaneez Fatima said that the ban on hijab will be lifted in the very first cabinet meeting of the Congress government. Apart from this, a proposal will also be passed to restore the reservation given to Muslims. Let us tell you that before the Karnataka elections, BJP had abolished the reservation given to Muslims and increased the reservation given to Lingayat and Vokkaliga communities to get their votes. Kaneez Fatima is talking about getting this reservation back.
Fatima became such an MLA
MLA from Gulbarga North seat, Fathima has reached the Karnataka assembly elections 2023 by defeating the BJP candidate from Gulbarga North seat. The seat was occupied by Kaneez Fatima’s late husband Qamar ul Islam for 30 years. After the death of her husband, the Congress leadership contested the elections in 2018. Everyone was surprised by her desire to contest elections, as she herself wears a hijab. People had said a lot because of her wearing hijab, but due to what she did for the people of her area, people are sending her to the Vidhansabha by giving their valuable votes again and again.
