BJP MP and former Union Minister Babul Supriyo has left the BJP and joined Trinamool Congress. He further said that I wanted to leave politics in the past, which was a wrong decision of mine. Praising Mamta Banerjee, Babul Supriyo further said that today is my biggest day. Only Didi (Mamata Banerjee) has the interest of Bengal and the trust of the people of Bengal.
Decision to quit politics was wrong – Supriyo
In a tweet, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) said, “Babul Supriyo has joined the Trinamool family today in the presence of National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee and Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien. Recently, Babul Supriyo had announced his retirement from politics by writing a long post on social media. But then the BJP high command pacified the matter and convinced Babul Supriyo. Let us tell you that even though Babul Supriyo has joined TMC, the change in his security was done only today. Their security has now been changed to Y category instead of Z. This security has been given by the central government.
