New Delhi. BJP on Thursday posted a picture of Rahul Gandhi on its social media and called him the Ravana of the new age. The party wrote- Ravana of the new era is here. They are evil, against religion and against Ram. Their only goal is to destroy the country. The poster released by BJP on its social media handle shows 7 heads of Rahul. It is written on it – India is in danger. Ravana is written in big letters just below the picture. Below this, A CONGRESS PARTY PRODUCTION DIRECTED BY GEORGE SOROS is written in English.
Why did BJP link Rahul with Soros?
BJP alleged that George Soros’s people had participated in Congress’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. Apart from this, BJP leaders have taken the name of a non-governmental organization (NGO) named ‘Open Society Foundation’. BJP leaders claim that this NGO is funded by American billionaire George Soros and its vice president Salil Shetty had participated in Congress’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
On February 17, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia posted a photo on social media in which Salil Shetty is seen together with Rahul Gandhi at the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Apart from this, another BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala posted a video on the same date, in which the name of Praveen Chakraborty was mentioned. Chakraborty is also considered anti-Modi.
What allegations did Smriti Irani make against Rahul?
Actually, on June 28, Smriti Irani had held a press conference. Smriti had said- Rahul Gandhi had met people close to George Soros during his America tour. He also attacked Rahul for the involvement of Tanzeem Ansari of Islamic Circle of North America in hosting an event for Indian expatriates during his visit and said that Ansari has links with Jamaat-e-Islami.
George Soros had said- Modi is not democratic
George Soros is an American billionaire businessman. Soros had said in the Munich Security Council 8 months ago that India is a democratic country, but Prime Minister Modi is not democratic. The main reason for his fast becoming a big leader is the violence done to Muslims.
Soros had also targeted PM Modi on the Citizenship Amendment Act i.e. CAA in India and the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir. Soros had said on both the occasions that India was moving towards becoming a Hindu nation. On both the occasions, his statements were very harsh and he was seen attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Soros’ reach to 100 countries through ‘Open Society Foundation’
Soros started the ‘Open Society Foundation’ in 1993. Through this, he worked in the fields of education, health and human rights and reached out to about 100 countries. It is claimed on his website that he has donated 32 billion dollars so far. They also fund many other international organizations.
Soros’s organization entered India for the first time in 1999. Earlier it used to give scholarship to students doing research in India. In 2014, Open Society began funding organizations that improve medicine, the justice system, and help people with disabilities in India. In 2016, the Government of India banned funding through this institution in the country.
Jaishankar described Soros as old, stubborn and dangerous
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had described American billionaire businessman George Soros as old, rich, stubborn and dangerous. Jaishankar had said in Australia – Such people feel that if a person of their choice wins the election, then that election was good, but if the result is different then they start finding flaws in the democracy of the country.
Smriti Irani had said- Attempt to interfere in India’s democracy
On Soros’s statement, Union Minister Smriti Irani had said that efforts are being made from foreign soil to weaken India’s democratic structure. This is an attempt to interfere in India’s democracy. Congress had also opposed Soros’ statement.
