Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has refused to become the convener of INDIA alliance. He said- I have been telling you this thing time and again, I do not want to be anything. I have no such wish. I just want to unite everyone. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar along with Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav had reached Sri Krishna Memorial Hall on Monday. The third meeting of INDIA, a coalition of opposition parties, will be held in Mumbai on August 31 and September 1. The coordinator of the alliance is to be announced in this meeting. From the beginning there is talk that Nitish Kumar will be made the convenor.

Around 80 leaders from 26 parties are likely to attend the third meeting of INDIA to be held in Mumbai. According to the news agency PTI, the logo of INDIA alliance can be released in the Mumbai meeting. The first meeting of INDIA was held in Patna on 23 June. The second meeting was held in Bengaluru on 17-18 July.
Nitish said, ‘No no, we don’t want to become anything… we are calling you equal… other people will be made… we have no desire. We want to unite everyone and everyone should do it together… We do not want anything personal… We want it in everyone’s interest… We are uniting everyone.
Lalu had said – anyone else can be a convenor
RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, who reached Gopalganj last days, had made it clear that India’s convenor could be not only Chief Minister Nitish Kumar but anyone else. Lalu Prasad had said that there is no dispute regarding the coordinator in the INDIA alliance and it will be decided by meeting all the parties in the next meeting. He had said that a convenor of three-four states would be made and for convenience convenors would be appointed in the states as well.
Punia had said – India’s PM will be decided after elections
Congress leader PL Punia had said last week that the Prime Minister of India would be decided after winning the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He said- All the MPs who win the election will choose the PM. The Congress leader also claimed that BJP leader Smriti Irani would lose the Amethi seat. Punia said- In 2024 the people of Amethi will defeat Smriti Irani. Congress or INDIA alliance candidate will definitely win.
After the meeting of opposition unity, Kejriwal is adamant: said- Congress should clear its stand on the ordinance, otherwise will not attend any meeting
The first meeting of opposition unity was held at Ek Ane Marg, Chief Minister’s residence of Bihar. Leaders of 15 parties were present in it. Common Minimum Program, seat distribution were discussed in the two and a half hour meeting. Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal did not attend the joint press conference after the meeting.
