Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury: There is news of relief for suspended Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary. The Privileges Committee of the Lok Sabha approved the proposal to lift the suspension of Ranjan Chowdhary on Wednesday, 30 August. He was suspended for a comment during the monsoon session. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary presented his side in the Privileges Committee meeting of the Parliament today. After which the committee decided to cancel his suspension.
‘It was not my intention to hurt anyone’
Sunil Singh, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is the chairman of the Committee of Privileges. Presenting his stand before the committee, the Congress MP said that he had no intention to hurt or anger anyone. He made that comment in some other context. According to news agency PTI, the committee first got voting done to revoke the suspension of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, then passed a resolution. A copy of this proposal will soon be sent to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for review.
