Former Uttar Pradesh CM and Samajwadi President Akhilesh Yadav gave a big statement saying that I will not contest the next UP elections. According to the news agency, Akhilesh himself has announced this. If this happens, Akhilesh will lead the Samajwadi Party in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections 2022 on the strategy of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said that he will not contest the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, which are due early next year. Akhilesh also said that the alliance between his party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has been finalized for the elections. The SP chief said in an interview to a news agency that our alliance with RLD is final. The seat sharing is yet to be finalised.
Akhilesh, the SP MP from Azamgarh and the chief ministerial face of his party, said that he will not contest the assembly elections. On the possibility of taking along Chacha Shivpal Yadav’s Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia (PSPL) in the elections, Akhilesh said, “I have no problem with it. He and his people will be given due respect. However, he did not say when a final decision would be taken in this regard.
Akhilesh rubbished Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s claim that only the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) helped the suffering people during the Covid-19 pandemic, saying that both these organizations were in trouble. Was missing in time and only SP helped the people by going to the area. He said, the BJP is claiming that during the Covid-19 epidemic, only it and the people of the RSS helped the troubled people. This is absolutely a lie. Both these organizations had left the public on its own. Only SP workers were helping people by taking to the streets in the peak time of the epidemic.
Shah had said in Lucknow last week that only people from the BJP and the RSS helped those in distress during the pandemic. Akhilesh alleged that most cases were filed against SP workers for helping during the Covid-19 epidemic, but this did not deter them. After all, why no case has been filed against any BJP worker? This is because only our workers were helping people and cases were registered against them to break their morale. This was the inhuman face of the BJP.
Asked about the alliance with former minister Omprakash Rajbhar-led Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SUBHSP), the SP president said it was a natural alliance and people of eastern Uttar Pradesh accepted it. This will ensure the defeat of BJP.
On the election promises of free electricity by SubhaSP and employment to one crore people by RLD, the former chief minister said, “Every party has its own agenda. We all take up the issues of farmers, unemployed and common people. Every party is releasing its manifesto. If we get victory in the elections, then our government will try to include all those issues and promises in its priority and for this a common minimum program will be prepared.
Asked about an alliance with Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) or Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress, the SP leader said, “Our party has not spoken to them. Akhilesh claimed that the SP was the only party that could take on the BJP and stand in front of it in the public interest. Farmers are also with SP. This time there will be a change in the state and for this people have made up their mind. Regarding SP’s Vijay Rath Yatra, Akhilesh said that this Rath Yatra started last month and will continue till November 11.
Regarding the work of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Akhilesh said, the Chief Minister has ruined the state. By claiming to fulfill 90 percent of the promises of its manifesto, the BJP is just lying.
