Chief Minister: The farmers of Hanumangarh and Sriganganagar, who are demanding irrigation water from the Bhakra dam, have raised hopes of relief. The agitation is going on under the banner of United Kisan Morcha on the demand of giving 1200 cusecs of water. Punjab CM Bhagwant met the farmers of both the districts sitting on dharna for almost a month under the leadership of Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal. After this meeting held in Bathinda, CM Mann has agreed to give 1200 cusecs of water through Sirhind feeder. After the talks, he said that the farmers of Punjab and Rajasthan are brothers. We will make such a system that no farmer should face any problem.

Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal said after talks with CM Mann that lasted for about 2 hours, that CM Mann of Punjab has agreed to the demands of the farmers and assured them to find a solution according to their aspirations. He has said that soon he has assured to issue orders for the decision to give water as per the demand of the farmers. Member of Parliament Hanuman Beniwal said that apart from irrigation water, there was also a discussion on the release of contaminated waste from factories in the canals and contaminated drinking water from the Punjab side. He said that a plant has been set up to clean the water. There has been discussion about setting up a bigger plant than this. So that clean drinking water can be available in Rajasthan.

After this positive talk, Bhakiyu’s leader Resham Singh Manuka told that in conversation with CM Bhagwant Mann, a meeting was held on the ongoing agitation for the demand of 1250 cusecs of water. He assured that till June 5, 850-1200 cusecs of water would be given to the farmers. Let us tell you that only 700 cusecs of water was being released from the Bhakra Canal till Saturday. are declining.
