Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh made a big announcement on Wednesday that he would soon form the party. Addressing the media, he said that a new political party will be formed in Punjab before the assembly elections to be held next year. Addressing the media in Chandigarh, Amarinder said that during his 4.5 years as the Chief Minister of Punjab, he fulfilled more than 90 per cent of the promises made in the 2017 election manifesto. Significantly, Amarinder Singh had to face unnecessary exit from the state government last month after months of bitter fight with Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Many Congress leaders will join the party-Captain
Addressing the media, Amarinder Singh said that yes, I am forming a party. Now the question is, what is the name of the party, I cannot tell you this because I myself do not know it. When the Election Commission approves the party’s name and symbol, I will let you know. He said that at present he has many Congress leaders in his contact. Talking about his tenure, the Captain said – There are some people who are saying that Captain Amarinder Singh has not done any work, I do not want to name his name. The 18-point program was almost what I tried to accomplish.

target on sidhu
The former Punjab CM said that he would form a new party. Singh said the party would contest all the assembly seats. Punjab has 117 seats. Elections are to be held in the state early next year. While targeting Sidhu, the Captain said that the popularity of Congress has declined since Sidhu’s joining. Wherever Navjot Singh Sidhu contests from, we will fight him. He said that if someone (of the state) Home Minister says that nothing is happening in Punjab, then he is a completely incompetent Home Minister.
