2000 note was brought against PM Modi's wish, former Principal Secretary made shocking disclosure

PM Modi: November 8, 2016 was the day when PM Modi, taking an unexpected decision, had taken the old notes of 1000 and 500 out of circulation. After that demonetisation, the Reserve Bank had issued new notes of 2000 and 500 for the first time. It has now been revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi never wanted the Rs 2000 note in circulation. He believed that this note would not become a means of hoarding for the poor but for the capitalists. The government had also started getting indications of this for some time now. When suddenly 2000 notes started disappearing from the market.

Mishra, who was the Principal Secretary to the PM, disclosed

Nripendra Mishra, who worked as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, disclosed that when the decision of demonetisation was taken. Only then PM Modi had made it clear that 2000 note will be taken at the appropriate time. He had no hesitation in taking the decision to withdraw again. That’s why after 2018 the printing of 2000 notes was stopped. In the thoughts of PM Modi, there was always this feeling that he used to consider the 2000 note as the note of the poor.

Nripendra Mishra disclosed the whole plan

Former Principal Secretary told that at the time when 1000 and 500 notes were to be changed. At that time the biggest concern was that the amount of notes would come back to the bank. Then will you be able to print and supply that quantity of notes? The Reserve Bank had some concerns regarding this. The team which was prepared for this work believed that if the plan is to be successful within the stipulated time. So we will have to print 2000 notes. PM Modi was not at all enthusiastic about this topic. He believed that if Rs 1000 is discontinued and Rs 2000 is printed, how will he explain to the people that there is an attempt to reduce black money. Because hoarding will become easier with the introduction of a bigger note.
