What is the claim of Mahant Param Das?
Mahant Param Das claims that in 2017 itself, Mahant Sarveshwar Das of the cantonment had entrusted him with the responsibility in the writings of Mahanti. Therefore, after his death, he becomes the right of the chieftain here. Whereas his opposition faction has named Dilip Das of Jagannath temple as Mahant of Tapasvi Cantonment. This decision has been taken unanimously by the trust formed by the late Mahant Sarveshwar Das. The saints told that due to the absurd antics of Paramhansdas, Mahant Sarveshwar Das had formed a trust to run the temple by removing him from the responsibility of Mahanti in 2019. Cases are also registered against him in the police for the arbitrary acts of Paramhans for declaring Hindu Rashtra. In the meantime, he had announced to resign from the Mahanti and leave Ayodhya. Due to which now his Mahanti’s claim is baseless. But who will be the mahant now legally? Efforts are underway regarding this.
Real fight over property
It was told that the ascetic cantonment behind the mahanti of the temple is about taking possession of the property worth crores of the temple. Since the Mahant of the temple is the main custodian of its property, therefore violent incidents also happen in Ayodhya regarding the Mahanti. It was told that there is also about 500 bighas of land in Gonda Ayodhya and other districts near Tapasvi Cantonment. The price of which has increased a lot with the development of Ayodhya. Efforts have also been made to illegally occupy 5 acres of temple land. Now both the factions have tightened their gears regarding Mahanti. The police is also making elaborate security arrangements in view of the possibility of a clash between the claimants of the Mahanti of both the factions, regarding the program of the Mahanti’s Chadar Kanthi Bhandara, which is going to be held on September 12.
