Similarly, in the year 2019, 523 cases under this act, 501 cases in 2018, 395 cases in 2017, 326 in 2016. Cases and 293 cases were registered in 2015. The shocking thing is that there has not only been an increase in the cases registered in the country, but there has been a huge increase in the information of child marriage.
Highest number of cases reported in Karnataka
As per NCRB records, out of 785 cases of child marriages registered in India last year, 184 cases have been registered in Karnataka. Similarly, 138 cases have been registered in Assam, 98 in West Bengal, 77 in Tamil Nadu and 62 in Telangana.
