Raipur, (Hindustan Reporter) Monsoon has once again become active in the state. It rained heavily in many districts of the state including the capital Raipur from late evening till late night on Tuesday. Due to rain, many areas of the capital were flooded, due to which people had to face problems. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning to Raigarh, Raipur, Gariaband, Dhamtari, Mahasamund including Bastar, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Sukma, Kanker, Bijapur and Narayanpur of South Chhattisgarh. An alert has been issued for heavy rain in the district. It is said that monsoon will remain active in the state for the next four days.
It is noteworthy that the state has received 848.6 mm rainfall from June 1 to September 12, which is 18 percent less than normal. This year, the month of August has received the least rainfall in the last 41 years. It rained in most of the districts of the state on Tuesday. There has been heavy rain especially in South Chhattisgarh i.e. Bastar division. There has been heavy rain at many places in Dantewada, Narayanpur, Bijapur, Sukma, Kanker and Kondagaon. Here, light to moderate rain has been recorded in Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Korba and Rajnandgaon.
According to meteorologist HP Chandra, along with the monsoon system, a trough is extending from 4.5 km to 7.6 km height from central Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Bay of Bengal to north coastal Andhra Pradesh. Due to its effect, there will be light to moderate rainfall in various areas of the state on Wednesday. Also, heavy rainfall may be accompanied by lightning in some areas.
