Raipur (Hindustan Reporter) The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain for Narayanpur including Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Kanker, Bijapur, Surguja. The department has informed that three systems have been activated in Chhattisgarh. Due to which it will start raining again and again in the state. In the coming two days, there may be heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas of the state.
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon trough extends to a height of 2.1 km over Udaipur, Indore, Betul, Gondia, Raipur, Gopalpur and then towards the southeast till the Bay of East Central Bengal. A cyclone circulation is located over Chhattisgarh and extends up to a height of 7.6 km.
According to the information received from the department, there has been 810.2 mm rainfall in the state from June 1 to September 7, whereas normally there should have been 999.5 mm rainfall. Thus, there has been 19 percent less rainfall in the state. Bijapur district has received maximum rainfall of 1398.1 mm, which is 19 percent more than normal. Also, Surguja has received the lowest rainfall of 417.7 mm, which is 61 percent less than normal. While 20 percent more rainfall has been recorded in Sukma district of the state.
On Thursday afternoon, it rained intermittently throughout the day in many districts including Raipur. The rain continued till the evening. After the rain, many areas of the capital including Bhathagaon and Mahadev Ghat Road are flooded. It is noteworthy that this year the rainfall in Chhattisgarh has lagged behind and this has affected the paddy crop as well as the reservoirs. So far only 18 and a half TMC water is in the Gangerl dam. This is quite less. Along with this, there is one and a half TMC waterlogging in Marumsilli, six and a half TMC in Dudhwa and three and a quarter TMC in Sondhur dams.
