Najibabad, With the connivance and patronage of the Department of Food Safety and Drug Administration, the work of selling adulterated and spurious milk is going on in full swing in Najibabad city and in the surrounding area.
Hundreds of milkmen supply hundreds of quintals of milk daily from the nearby villages of Najibabad to the shopkeepers and domestic customers of Najibabad. Most of these milkmen sell milk mixed with water, while some milkmen mix milk with water and sell it by making synthetic milk.
On talking to some milkmen, they told that they pay ₹ 300 per quarter per milkman to continue this racket uninterrupted. Because of which they keep getting a donation from the Food Safety Officer. Because of this, citizens are forced to drink synthetic and adulterated milk.
It has been learned from reliable sources that the Food Security officials have appointed a person resident of local Mohalla Rampura Valmiki Basti for this illegal extortion, who honestly collects illegal extortion from milkmen and other businessmen and gives it to the Food Security officials.
