Ujjain, (His). With the announcement of assembly election dates in Madhya Pradesh, the model code of conduct also came into effect from Monday. Following the election code of conduct has also started in the world famous Jyotirlinga Lord Mahakaleshwar temple located in Ujjain. The temple administrator has closed the quota of political protocol. Now here the leaders will also participate in the Bhasmarti of Lord Mahakal like the common devotees and will have darshan and worship from outside the sanctum sanctorum.
Administrator of Mahakal Temple Management Committee, Sandeep Kumar Soni said that as soon as the election code of conduct was imposed in the state, the protocol darshan system in Mahakaleshwar temple has been stopped. Around 200 Bhasma Aarti permissions from political quota have been shifted to online general quota. Till the formation of the new government, leaders of various political parties will visit the temple like common devotees.
He said that political party leaders will now be allowed to enter the temple like normal visitors. If they want to have early darshan, then like other devotees, they can buy early darshan ticket of Rs 250 and enter the temple from gate number four. As per political protocol, respect and Bhasma Aarti will not be allowed. The Bhasma Aarti seat of this quota has been shifted to the online general visitors quota.
Administrator Soni said that apart from political protocol, there is also an administrative protocol in the Mahakal temple. Under this, special facilities are provided to officers of various departments for darshan. He told that the decision whether the administrative protocol in the code of conduct will continue or not will be taken after a meeting with Collector Kumar Purushottam.
