    Vidisha News: 7-year-old boy falls into borewell while driving away monkey, rescue operation continues, 49 feet will be dug

    Vidisha: A 7-year-old boy fell into a borewell in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha district on Tuesday. Administration rescue operation is going on to get the child out safely. The boy who fell into the borewell has been identified as Lokesh Ahirwar. As per information, the incident took place when the child was playing in Kherkhedi Pathar village and suddenly he fell into the open borewell. Lateri Sub-Divisional Magistrate Harshal Chowdhary said that after being informed by the villagers, a rescue team reached the spot and launched an operation to rescue the child. He said that efforts are on to rescue the child safely with the help of JCB machine in the operation. A camera has also been lowered into the borewell to better track the condition of the child.

    Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that he has instructed the Vidisha district administration to bring out the child safely. A rescue team was also sent from Bhopal to Vidisha. In the last few months, many such incidents have come to the fore in many districts of Madhya Pradesh. Shockingly, this incident took place when the Madhya Pradesh government directed all district administrations to ensure that not a single borewell remains open.

    The borewell is 60 feet deep
    According to officials, Lokesh fell into the borewell while chasing the monkeys. A team of doctors is monitoring the child. He is feared to be trapped at a depth of 43 feet in a 60 feet deep borewell. Vidisha Collector Umashankar Bhargava told that we are digging a 49 feet deep pit and till now have successfully dug about 34 feet, soon the child will be rescued. We are continuously supplying oxygen. Webcams have also been installed to watch the child’s activities. He told that the rescue operation is going on since Tuesday to save the child.

    To save the innocent child, 3 teams of SDRF and 1 team of NDRF are on the spot. The child is being monitored, oxygen is being supplied. The speed of excavation has slowed down due to the sandy soil being trapped during the excavation. At present, more than 10 feet will be excavated to save the child. After that, the child will be taken out by making a tunnel of 5 feet.
