Holi is prepared by collecting coconut in the same temple premises. A huge crowd gathers here on this Holi. The district administration also deploys police force here. So that the system does not deteriorate. Om Prakash Shastri, the founder of Balaji Temple, told that coconut Holi is lit in Rajasthan’s Mehdipur Balaji. Here too, on the same lines, this tradition started two decades ago. Now it is being performed every year. People from Ahmedabad and Gujarat also come here on Holi. Whereas devotees from Kanpur, Jhansi, Fatehpur, Hardoi come to offer coconut on Holi.

Where do coconuts come from in large numbers to burn Holi, on this question, Om Prakash Shastri, the founder of Balaji Temple, said that devotees offer coconuts to the temple throughout the year. They are collected and kept safe. Around Holi, a large number of people come to offer coconut. On the occasion of Holika, other than the district, people from nearby districts come and take off the coconut (turning the head upwards) and keep it in Holi. It is a belief that the one who takes off the coconut, all his troubles and sorrows burn with the coconut in Holi, his life becomes happy. This year also around one lakh coconuts were collected there.

Om Prakash Shastri, the founder of the temple told that there is also a scientific reason for burning coconut Holi, it purifies the environment. As far as the smoke of coconut goes, the diseases of that area go away. Along with humans, animals and birds also remain healthy.
