    New Delhi: When Telugu film RRR’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Oscar for Best Original Song, Union Minister Piyush Goyal reminded the scriptwriter of being made a Rajya Sabha MP. He said it also acknowledged the merits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who made the film’s screenwriter V. Vijayendra Prasad a Rajya Sabha MP just a few months back. The RRR scriptwriter was nominated as a Rajya Sabha member in July 2022. Now Piyush Goyal says that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government is giving respect to those who have increased the pride of Indian culture, which is getting acceptance from all over the world.


    RRR scriptwriter sent to Rajya Sabha

    BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP and Union Minister Piyush Goyal said, ‘PM Narendra Modi has shown his unique feature by nominating personalities to the Rajya Sabha who have left a mark of their achievements in various fields like Indian culture, social work and sports. ‘ Goyal has said this in a Facebook post. He said, ‘ Shri V. Vijayendra Prasad, the scriptwriter of the film RRR, is among those special people who were nominated by the PM as Rajya Sabha members in July 2022. Scriptwriters from Andhra Pradesh have been associated with the creative world for decades. He said that Prime Minister Modi last year recognized the greatness of V. Vijayan and said that the proud culture of India is reflected in his work which has been recognized worldwide.

    ‘The world is accepting the choice of PM Modi’

    The Union Minister further said in his Facebook post, ‘Today the eyes of the world are on RRR because its song Natu Natu got the Oscar Award for Original Song. It is also a global acceptance of the choice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Piyush Goyal also referred to the sending of musician Ilaiyaraaja and famous athlete PT Usha from Tamil Nadu as well as Udanpari, while Virender Hegde and Sonal Mansingh from Karnataka were sent to the Rajya Sabha. Virendra Hegde has done commendable work in the field of health, education and culture. At the same time, Sonal Mansingh has also been awarded Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan for his outstanding contribution to Indian culture through Bharat Natyam.
