New Delhi. The threat of Coronavirus has started increasing once again in the country. Worrying figures are coming out, especially from some states. The highest risk has increased in the state of Kerala. Not only this, concern has increased due to the arrival of 5 thousand corona cases from only one district in Kerala. The concern has increased because all of them have taken both doses of the corona vaccine.
In about 9 districts of Kerala, many people who have taken both the doses of corona vaccine are found to be Covid positive. A new trend is emerging, which has raised the concern of the government including the health department.
So far 40,000 cases of breakthrough infection have been reported. In this too, the report of Pathanamthitta district is most worrying. In this district of Kerala, 14,974 people taking one dose of the vaccine while 5,042 people who took both the doses have been found infected with corona.
Breakthrough infection raises concern
In Kerala, cases of infection have been seen in 40 thousand people who have been vaccinated so far. Infection that occurs despite a vaccine is also called a breakthrough infection.
At the same time, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), breakthrough infection is an infection where a person is found to be corona positive for 14 days or more after taking both doses of corona vaccine. In such a situation, this breakthrough infection has increased the concern.
New variants expected
The way Corona cases and trends are coming to the fore in Kerala has raised apprehension about its new variant. The Center has also asked the state government to trace all the cases by doing genome sequencing. So that the threat of new variants can be eliminated in time.
Due to the breakthrough infection, the apprehension about the new variant has increased. This suspicion has been strengthened due to the increase in the cases of getting infected even after taking both the doses.
14.73 percent death rate from corona
In the last 24 hours, 21,445 new cases of corona infection were reported in Kerala, while 160 died. After this, the total number of infected in the state has increased to 36,31,638. At the same time, the death toll reached 18,280. The infection rate in Kerala is 14.73 percent.
