Kolkata, 11 June (Hindustan Times). Ahead of the impending panchayat elections in West Bengal, Trinamool Congress MLA from Islampur, Karim Chowdhary has turned rebel once again. Chaudhary, who has been making serious allegations against the party leaders for a long time, has now also said about the Panchayat elections that he is sending the list of candidates to the Panchayat in his area separately to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. If he does not get the approval, he will make his supporters contest the independent elections.
At present, Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and national general secretary of Trinamool Congress, is undertaking a padyatra for the election of candidates in the panchayat. He also went to Uttar Dinajpur and tried to persuade Karim Chowdhury. He had instructed District President Kanhai Lal to work in coordination with Chaudhary. However, Karim Chaudhary has said that Kanhai Lal has not made any contact with him. In the viral video, Chowdhary is seen saying that he has given his entire life for the party and has not become a public representative on someone’s strength. Making serious allegations against Kanhai Lal and other Trinamool leaders in the district, he has said that corruption has been taking place on a large scale in the schemes of the state government. The funds of the panchayats have also been misappropriated, so they want to give tickets to candidates with a clean image. This video of his is from a day ago i.e. Saturday.
